Antonia Maioni joins the Instititute's Board of Directors

Board Chair Michael Mendelson is pleased to announce that Dr. Antonia Maioni is the newest member of the Environics Institute's Board of Director.

Professor Maioni currently serves as Dean of Arts at McGill University,and is jointly appointed to the Department of Political Science and the Institute for Health and Social Policy.

Her research focuses on health-care reform and the Canadian political process. She holds a BA from Université Laval, an MA from the Norman Paterson of International Affairs at Carleton University, and a PhD in political science from Northwestern University. She has held visiting appointments at Harvard University, Duke University, and the European University Institute.

Professor Maioni served for 10 years as the Director of the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada, and is a past President of the Federation for the Social Sciences and Humanities.  She has regularly engaged audiences in thoughtful dialogues about public policy issues with major news media across Canada.  She is currently a member of CIFAR’s Research Council.

The Institute expresses its thanks to Tom Kierans, who is stepping down from the Institute Board following a two-year term.
